It’s the first question almost every business owner asks us — and the honest answer is “it depends.” But it depends on a handful of predictable things. Here’s how to think about it.
What drives the price
- Number of pages. A five-page brochure site is a very different project from a 40-page site with service-area pages for every city you serve.
- Custom design vs. template. Templates are cheaper upfront. Custom design costs more but fits your brand and is built around how your customers buy.
- Features. Online booking, e-commerce, payment processing, member logins and integrations with your CRM all add development time.
- Content. If you need copywriting or photography, budget for it. Great content is what makes a site convert.
The costs people forget
Your website doesn’t stop costing money at launch. Plan for hosting, your domain renewal, an SSL certificate (included free with our hosting plans), software updates and occasional content changes. A cheap site on unreliable hosting often ends up costing more in lost leads.
Questions to ask any web designer
- Will I own my domain and website?
- Is the price fixed, and what’s included?
- Can I update the site myself?
- What happens after launch if something breaks?
